Our Summer Festival Season Preview (note: just a preview!)

February 21, 2012

Winter has been weak, yeah so we could get slammed with snow in March but so far so good. Living up in the mountains we get some light snow most nights but this area has been devoid of the major snowfall. Last year at this time this area was digging out from a three foot Valentines Day barnburner of a storm. No such luck, Killington has gotten nothing and only half the trails are open. One bit of salvation is that Summertime is slowly creeping up on us. And Summertime=Festival season which = running around the country selling our jewelry and crystals!

We are busy at work getting our life mapped out from May thru November and that will take us from our mountaintop studio in Vermont thru New York State and to states we haven’t spent a great deal of time(Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia) and some places we cannot wait to get to (Colorado and California). Last summer we worked 15 festivals and expect to meet or exceed that number this summer. It’s work, you take it if you can get it!

So far we are all set for our kickoff summer festival in Hunter, NY called Mountain Jam which we discussed in great detail in one of our previous posts. We will be setup near the main entrance to the lodge area and will be excited to see amazing artists such as Steve Winwood and Michael Franti

We will also be at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY. This My Morning Jacket centered festival will have more than 30,000 people in downtown Louisville from July 13-16 and we will be located between the two main stages. Stay tuned for their full lineup that will drop next week and we expect will include a great mix of rock, jambands, electronic, and probably some amazing bluegrass

We are also looking to get involved in the Wanderlust Feativalswhich is located in Copper, CO and Lake Tahoe, CA. This festival will include music, art, yoga, holistic medicine, great chefs and meditation. This will be our first shot out there and we are super excited to be there as both vendors and patrons.

One other festival that is definitely on our radar is All Good Music Festival on July 19-22 outside of Columbus, OH at Buckeye Lake which was the site of many amazing Grateful Dead shows over the years. This will be All Goods first year in Ohio after moving from the magical Marvins Mountaintop in West Virginia. The lineup includes the Allman Brothers , Phil Lesh and Friends, Bobby Weir and Bruce Hornsby among others. With 20 more bands yet to be released and over 50,000 people this could be one of the highlights of the summer

As we continue to book more shows we will put the entirety if the schedule here in the blog. We fully expect to toss in some amazing craft and children’s shows along with the music and arts shows. Will be a busy and amazing summer and we can’t wait to see everyone again soon!

Much love
